The 2022 Women's World Chess Championship is an upcoming chess match for the Women's World Chess Championship title. It is contested by the defending champion Ju Wenjun (winning the 2020 match) and her challenger, the winner of the 2021 Candidate tournament.
Candidates tournament
The second edition of the women's candidates will be played in the first half of 2021.[1] The format is not yet announced, but probably will again feature eight players. These are
- Aleksandra Goryachkina (Loser of the Women's World Chess Championship 2020)
- 2 highest placed players from the FIDE Women's Grand Prix 2019–20[2]
- 2 finalists of the 2020 FIDE Women's World Cup[3]
