Adi Shankar (born Aditya Shankar;[1] January 8, 1985) is an American film producer, film director, YouTube personality, and occasional actor, who is best known for being the youngest producer to have a number one film at the North American box office with The Grey. He is also responsible for legitimizing the fan film as an art form with his creation of the "Bootleg Universe" which includes [2] The Punisher: Dirty Laundry,[3][4] and Power/Rangers.[5]

In 2014 Shankar ranked number 20 on GQ magazine's list of “Most Influential Global Indian Men."[6]

Early life

Shankar studied communications, business, and theater at Northwestern University and graduated in June 2007.[7]
