Allestree Woodlands School (formerly Woodlands School) is a coeducational secondary school and sixth form with academy status, located on Blenheim Drive in Allestree, Derby in the East Midlands of England.

Admissions

The school is for pupils aged 11–18. About 210 students enrol at the school in any one academic year, with about 1260 in total.

History

The school was opened as Woodlands Secondary Modern School in 1956. It became a comprehensive in 1975, and was awarded specialist status as a Technology College in September 2004.[1] The school converted to academy status in 2012. The school is currently going through a 90% rebuilding project.

Academic performance

The school gets good results at GCSE, being the fourth best in Derby LEA. At A level, it is excellent and the second best in Derby.
