Amy Grant is the eponymous debut studio album by then-teenage Christian singerAmy Grant, released in 1977 on Myrrh Records. Three songs from the album made Top Ten Christian radio airplay: "Old Man's Rubble", "Beautiful Music", and "What a Difference You've Made". The latter track was made more famous by country singer Ronnie Milsap, as "What a Difference You've Made in My Life".
Contemporary Christian music was coming out of its infancy, but at first, albums made by early Contemporary Christian music artists did not have enough copies to meet the growing demands in the primary and secondary markets. Grant made an effort to make Contemporary Christian music a dream come true by making her first album. She was the first person to do it successfully and carefully. When it was released, it sold well, with 50,000 copies at stake. It was reissued in 1980, this time it became a bestseller, with an estimated hundreds and thousands of copies sold. Thus, Grant's Christian music career begins with a successful effort and her dream becoming a true fact.[citation needed]
