Andre Ingram (born September 19, 1985) is an American professional basketball player for the Los Angeles D-Fenders of the NBA Development League. He played college basketball for American University.

High school career

Ingram played at Highland Springs High School under coach George Lancaster and led them to the Group AAA championship as a senior, the first title in school history He averaged 22.8 points and 9.5 rebounds per game while shooting 49 percent from three-point land. During his high school career, he was a two-time selection as the Capital District Player of the Year and First-Team All-Metro.[1]

College career

Ingram attended American University where he started 117 of 118 career games played and led the Eagles in scoring all four years. He also earned First Team All-Patriot League honors his sophomore and senior years and was named to the conference Second Team as a junior. When he finished his college career, he was American's fifth all-time leading scorer with 1,655 points.[2]

His best year was as a senior, ranking fifth in the Patriot League in scoring with 15.2 points per game, second in three-point field goal percentage (.424), second in three-point field goals made per game with 2.6 and scoring 20 or more points eight times.[2]

Professional career

Ingram was selected by the Utah Flash with the 94th pick of the 2007 NBA Development League Draft[2] While in Utah, he became the team's all-time leader in points (with 2,098), second in rebounds (608), fourth in assists (336) and third in steals (184).[3] He also won the D-League three-point contest in 2010 and the Jason Collier Sportsmanship Award that same year.[4]

On March 22, 2012, Ingram was acquired by the Los Angeles D-Fenders, becoming a fixture since.[5] On the 2013–2014 season, Ingram averaged 9.1 points, 3.2 rebounds and 1.7 assists, while shooting .447 from three-point range, helping the D-Fenders win a West Division Championship.[6] On February 14, 2016, Ingram won his second three-point contest.[7]

Personal life

He is the son of Eva and Lucious Ingram and graduated with a bachelor's degree in physics.[1][2]
