The Apostolic Vicariate of San Vicente del Caguán, or in short Apostolic Vicariate of San Vicente (Latin: Apostolicus Vicariatus Sancti Vincentii), is an apostolic vicariate (pre-diocesan missionary jurisdiction), which is exempt, i.e. immediately subject to the Holy See, not part of an ecclesiastical province, of the Roman Catholic Church.

Its cathedral see, the Catedral Nuestra Señora de las Mercedes, is located in the town of San Vicente del Caguán in Colombia's Caqueta Department (province).

History

On 9 December 1985, pope John Paul II established the Apostolic Vicariate of San Vicente-Puerto Leguízamo from the Apostolic Vicariate of Florencia (now a bishopric).

Pope Benedict XVI split the vicariate in two on 21 February 2013, creating the Apostolic Vicariate of San Vicente and the Apostolic Vicariate of Puerto Leguízamo-Solano.[1][2]
