Army Public College PMA Kakul (or APC) is an English Medium[citation needed] co-education[citation needed] institution lying within the premises of PMA, Abbottabad.[2]

History

The school was established in 1965[citation needed] as a kindergarten for children of army personnel serving in the Pakistan Military Academy[citation needed]. In order to meet the increasing demand for education on the base, it was upgraded as primary school, and on 14 March 1984 it was formally inaugurated by Begum (Mrs) Zia-ul-Haq, wife of the military commander Shaheed Gen. Muhammad Zia-ul-Haq[citation needed]. In 1996, it was upgraded to SSC level School[citation needed]. In 2006 it was recognized by Federal Board of Intermediate and Secondary Education, Islamabad as an Intermediate College.[3] It was Mr. Sajid Mansoor, the Principal of this College (2007–2009) who revolutionized this college academically and administratively.
