The Aspark Owl (Japanese: アスパーク OWL) is an all-electric battery-powered sports car manufactured by Japanese engineering firm Aspark (アスパーク), under development since 2014, with the goal of making the fastest accelerating electric car. The firm has planned to have a production run of 50 vehicles, and have a list price somewhere around $5 million USD per car. The OWL was publicly unveiled at the 2017 Frankfurt Auto Show.[1][2][3][4][5] The car's 0-60 mph acceleration time of 1.9 seconds is comparable to that reported for the second generation Tesla Roadster.[6] That time would make it the quickest factory produced street-legal car in the world.[7]

Construction

The Owl is made largely of carbon fibre, and built around a spaceframe chassis, with wonder-weave body panels. It uses magnesium alloy wheels.[8]
