Biessum (Dutch pronunciation: [ˈbisɵm]) is a town in the Dutch province of Groningen. It is a part of the municipality of Delfzijl, and lies about 25 km northeast of Groningen.[1]

It has about 35-50 inhabitants. It is situated near a nature reservate (protected area) in which many birds live.
