Robert Alden Titchenal (October 17, 1917 – July 5, 2009) was an American football player and coach. From 1953 to 1955, he served as the head football coach at the University of New Mexico, where he compiled a 12–15–1 record. From 1957 to 1964, he was the head football coach at San Jose State University, where he compiled a 33–46–1 record. His overall record as a coach is 45–61–2. In his playing days, Titchenal captained the only undefeated San Jose State football team in school history.[citation needed] He went on to play professionally for the Washington Redskins, San Francisco 49ers, and the Los Angeles Dons. He was born in Ventura, California.
