Bruges lacemaker

Bruges lace is a part lace. This is made in pieces, with the designs later joined together to make the final lace.

Bruges flower lace is assembled from leaves scrolls and open flowers. These features arejoined together with plaits with picots, fillings, leaf plaits and braids.[1]

There is a modern lace school in Bruges called the Kantcentrum. This delivers lace courses, runs its own publishing house for books and lace patterns and organises lace workshops.[2]
