Contested deletion[edit]

When I created the category, it was populated with Lexicon (cardgame) (and perhaps other files). Lexicon was prodded, and deleted yesterday. Perhaps this was premature, as most references to that game are likely to be offline, and there were likely few eyes on that article. I've found a brief entry at the Imperial War Museum, an entry at World of Playing Cards, a This Old Thing mention in the Windsor Star, this mention in Encyclopedia of Play in Today's Society, and two mentions in the book We Played: Games from Childhood Past. There are also mentions in Games & Puzzles, Time & Tide (volume 57) and The Kovels' Antiques & Collectibles Price List, among others (and possibly in Words, words, words ..., but I can't access it). Those should be sufficient to restore the article, and hence to retain this category. Mindmatrix 17:53, 4 February 2020 (UTC)[reply]

@Mindmatrix, I got the Lexicon article restored if you wanted to work on it. BOZ (talk) 01:35, 21 February 2023 (UTC)[reply]
@Timur9008, you might see something for Lexicon as well? BOZ (talk) 03:25, 21 February 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Found these [1] (the maker) and this [2] Timur9008 (talk) 07:43, 21 February 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Awesome, and thank you. :) @Mindmatrix, if you want to have a go at this one then be my guest. BOZ (talk) 13:44, 21 February 2023 (UTC)[reply]
@BOZ: I've expanded the article somewhat. It could probably use another decent ref, but those available to me that I have not already used only have brief mentions, and searching ProQuest for a common term such as 'lexicon' is not particularly productive. I'm certain there are other refs available, particularly those related to stationery shops and markets in the UK covering the 1930s to 1970s. If anyone can dig some up, I'd be happy to expand the article accordingly. Mindmatrix 02:12, 23 February 2023 (UTC)[reply]
