Intercity trains only?

[edit]

The FrontRunner commuter line was recently added to this category. I would expect, however, that Named passenger trains would refer only to intercity trains, not commuter systems... yea or nay? Wlindley (talk) 02:02, 22 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]

That is how this category is intended. Services that are named by individual train (i.e. the Clocker) and not by carrier or line (as in the previous example, the Pennsylvania Railroad or Northeast Corridor) should be included here. Slambo (Speak) 11:22, 1 November 2013 (UTC)[reply]
Named trains pertain to a single run (in a direction) of a train with said name per day. Commuter operations like the FrontRunner run several times a day.Dogru144 (talk) 03:13, 21 February 2019 (UTC)[reply]
