Synopsis
Like the first season, the sisters fight different forces of evil each episode, and the show continues to focus on how such things impact the sisters' attempt to live normal lives, as far as such is possible.
Darryl Morris becomes a more prominent character as he begins to learn about the sisters' secret lives and helps them out in certain situations. The season also introduces two characters: neighbours Dan Gordon and his niece Jenny.
Piper, becoming frustrated with the limitations of her relationship with Whitelighter Leo Wyatt, is drawn to Dan, creating a love triangle. She opens a nightclub 'P3' which takes over from Quake as a place for the sisters to meet when not at the manor. Phoebe decides to return to school to complete a degree in Psychology and Prue leaves her job mid-season to follow her dream of becoming a photographer. She also has a brief relationship with Jack Sheridan whom she meets at Bucklands before leaving.
This season sees the sisters' powers growing as they begin to gain more control over them. Phoebe learns to command premonitions, Piper selectively freezes objects, and Prue gains the power of astral projection. They also begin to learn how to write and cast their own spells and create their own vanquishing potions.

ReceptionIn 2016, Gavin Hetherington of SpoilerTV ran a series of Charmed articles in the run-up to the 10th anniversary of the series finale. The second was a complete season review of season two, in which Gavin comments that the season takes things further than season one.[6] On the show's tone, he wrote "I found scenes to be brighter and the show's comical side being more prominent. I loved this season for the tone, and it managed to balance out the lighter episodes with the darker ones." He also noted the chemistry between the leads, saying that "there was also electric chemistry between the three sisters. Before there were bitter fallings-out, Shannen, Holly and Alyssa all demonstrated their sisterly bond authentically, and it really carried through in their performances. They always seemed like sisters, from the very beginning, right up to the end of the original Charmed One era, but for this season, it was probably their absolute best as a trio." He ended the article by saying season two was an "amazing season, and it will always be one of my favourites." NotesReferences
