Corinth is a city in Denton County, Texas, United States. It is a suburb of Dallas and a part of the Dallas-Fort Worth Metroplex. The population was 19,935 at the 2010 census.[1]

Geography

Corinth is located at 33°8′38″N 97°4′20″W / 33.14389°N 97.07222°W / 33.14389; -97.07222 (33.143952, -97.072194)Template:GR.

According to the United States Census Bureau, the city has a total area of 7.9 square miles (20 km2), of which 7.9 square miles (20 km2) is land and 0.1 square miles (0.26 km2), or 0.63%, is water.

Demographics

As of the censusTemplate:GR of 2010, there were 19,935 people residing in the city. The population density was 2,523.4 people per square mile (977.2/km²). There were 7,138 housing units, at an average density of 903.5 per square mile (349.9/km²). The racial makeup of the city was 84.7% White, 5.7% African American, 0.8% Native American, 2.7% Asian, 0.05% Pacific Islander, 3.2% some other race, and 2.9% from two or more races. Hispanic or Latino of any race were 11.8% of the population.

There were 6,897 households, out of which 43.0% had children under the age of 18 living with them, 68.2% were headed by married couples living together, 8.4% had a female householder with no husband present, and 20.0% were non-families. 14.7% of all households were made up of individuals, and 4.2% had someone living alone who was 65 years of age or older. The average household size was 2.89, and the average family size was 3.23.

In the city the population was spread out with 29.6% under the age of 18, 6.7% from 18 to 24, 31.1% from 25 to 44, 25.5% from 45 to 64, and 7.1% who were 65 years of age or older. The median age was 35.7 years. For every 100 females there were 95.9 males. For every 100 females age 18 and over, there were 93.0 males.[1]

According to a 2007 estimate, the median income for a household in the city was $95,967, and the median income for a family was $96,375. Males had a median income of $52,362 versus $35,089 for females. The per capita income for the city was $30,492. About 1.0% of families and 1.6% of the population were below the poverty line, including 1.6% of those under age 18 and 2.0% of those age 65 or over.
