The Crown of Queen Elisabeta was made at the Arsenalul Armatei from gold. It has the same decorations as the King's Crown; it too was made after the Romanian War of Independence (1877-1878). Elisabeth of Wied wore it for the first time on the occasion of the coronation ceremony that took place in Bucharest on 10/22 May 1881, the day Romania became a kingdom.
