Cyanidiophyceae is a class of red algae, the only class in the Division Cyanidiophyta.[1]

In older texts it has been known as "Cyanidiales". It was granted division status in the Saunders and Hommersand 2004 classification[citation needed] (as "Cyanidophyta"), but was only elevated to subdivision Cyanidiophytina in the Yoon et al. classification of 2006.[2]
