The show follows Sofia Karppi, a female detective of the Finnish police, in her 30s, who is recently widowed and left alone with two children to take care of. She returns to police work in Helsinki, and her first case together with the rookie detective Sakari Nurmi is the murder of Anna Bergdahl.

Plot

Rookie detective Sakari Nurmi (Lauri Tilkanen) is transferred from the financial crime group as Karppi's partner at the murder group. Their first case in the murder group begins as a routine disappearance. Women's clothes found at a construction site leads the detectives to the body of Anna Bergdahl (Pamela Tola) buried at a windy shore. Anna has been murdered, and her husband, Usko Bergdahl (Jani Volanen), is confused after hearing about the incident. Usko begins to investigate the murder of his wife with devastating consequences.
