Delta Groove Productions (Delta Groove Music) is an American blues independent record label, based in Van Nuys, California, United States. The company Delta Groove Productions, Inc. was founded by Southern California-based producer, concert promoter, and harmonica player Randy Chortkoff who died in May 2015, while awaiting a liver transplant and sentencing on fraud charges.

Its first release was That Represent Man (2004), the debut album by the all-star blues band The Mannish Boys.

Overview and history

The label started out with strictly blues material by artists from the local Los Angeles scene, however, it has been expanding its horizons to introduce wider range of sound. Jackie Payne Steve Edmonson Band's Master of the Game released in 2006 was the label's first release in the soul/R&B vein. The label's releases are newly recorded materials for the most part, but it has also released some albums that were produced by Chortkoff as independent productions and initially released by German label CrossCut. (Kirk Fletcher's Shade of Blue and Frank "Paris Slim" Goldwasser's bluju)

Apart from its own releases, Delta Groove Productions produced Roy Gaines' The First TB Album, released from the Blackgold label in 2003, which may be one of its first known work.

In 2007, Delta Groove launched a new record label, Eclecto Groove Records, as a home and showcase for a wide spectrum of musical styles. In June, 2007, Chortkoff brought in industry veteran Robert Fitzpatrick (who died in 2010) as the new President of Delta Groove Music and Eclecto Groove Records.[1]
