2017 London Triple Jump

Donald Scott (born February 23, 1992) is an American track and field athlete who competes in the triple jump. He holds a personal record of 17.37 m (56 ft 11+34 in), set in 2018. He is a 2017 US Indoor Triple Jump Champion and 2018 US Outdoor Champion. Scott is a 3rd year volunteer coach (since 2015) at Eastern Michigan University.[2]

From Apopka, FL, a suburb of Orlando, Donald attended Apopka High School where he would enjoy success both on the football field and the track. Once at Eastern Michigan University, where he earned a degree in Criminal Justice. Donald set EMU records in track and field. While competing for the Eagles, Donald brought home 9 Mid-American Conference titles, 2 NCAA Division 1 All-American honors, and set the MAC and school record for the triple jump. He also came away his senior year with an 2014 NCAA Division I Outdoor Track and Field Championships a 3rd place finish for the triple jump, and runner-up finish indoors.

In his first season as a pro, Donald made a mark on the national scene, earning 8th place at the 2015 USATF Outdoor Championships. Donald earned a 4th place finish at the USA Indoor Championships. In 2017, Donald took 3rd at the Outdoor USA Championships, securing his spot on Team USA for the World Championships in London.
