Brent Theodore Rutemiller (March 14,1956 - June 17, 2024) was an American swimmer, coach, publisher and executive. He swam for Covington Catholic High School and Eastern Kentucky University. After earning a teaching certificate, he taught and coached swimmers in Kentucky, Indiana, California and Arizona. He then transitioned to working for Swimming World Magazine [1], eventually becoming the publisher, CEO and owner. In 2017, Swimming World joined with the International Swimming Hall of Fame, in Fort Lauderdale, Florida, and Rutemiller became CEO.

Early Life
Rutemiller was born in Covington, KY, to Robert and Juanita (Poland) Rutemiller. He grew up in Fort Mitchell, KY, with two brothers and two sisters. Their activity centered around the nearby Brookwood Swim Club, where Rutemiller became a standout athlete, along with his lifelong friend, Frank Busch.

Death
Rutemiller passed away after a 3 year battle with cancer.<ref>https://www.azcentral.com/obituaries/pazs0869341/ref> He had participated in a clinical trial with the Mayo Clinic in Scottsdale, AZ, which prolonged his life and through which he hoped to help others.
