Hayk Yeganyan (Armenian: Հայկ Եգանյան, 7 September 1984.[1]) is a chief executive officer of the Armenia Securities Exchange (AMX) since 19 July 2017.[2]
Education
[edit]The secondary education he gained at Melkonian College in Cyprus[3], then continued his education at the University of Leicester in Great Britain receiving a bachelor's degree in financial economics. The master's degree in business management Hayk Yeganyan received at Imperial College London.[1]
Career
[edit]Hayk Yeganyan began his career in 2006 as a specialist in the economic security department of "Gazprom Armenia" CJSC, then in 2007-2010 created and led the Department of Securities Functions, coordinating preparations for the initial public offering, within the framework of which he organised the issue and placement of the first public bonds in Armenia.[4]
He worked in the private banking service sector in London and, at the same time, was a consultant of the Central Bank of Armenia in the UK in developing business relations of international managers related to pension reforms. Continuing consulting activities in 2013-2016, he was an advisor to the President of the Central Bank of Armenia.[3] From 2016 to 2017 he was a member of the supervisory board of NASDAQ OMX Armenia. Yeganyan is a member of the board of the Central Depository of Armenia.[3]
Contribution in Armenia
[edit]Back in 2020, the Warsaw Stock Exchange signed a term sheet with the Central Bank of Armenia on negotiations concerning the acquisition of 65% of the AMX from CBA[5] and later in 2022 in Davos, in Davos, a memorandum on the intentions of the Warsaw Stock Exchange to acquire shares of the Armenia Securities Exchange was initialed, followed by the signing of an agreement with the Chairman of the Central Bank of Armenia, Martin Galstyan, and the Chairman of the Governing Board of the Warsaw Stock Exchange, Marek Dietl, on the sale of a controlling stake of the Armenia Securities Exchange[6].
This transaction was another important step to strengthen Armenian-Polish business relations, activate Armenian-Polish economic ties, and introduce the culture of business cooperation in Armenia, to which Hayk Yeganyan's contribution is great.
Its activity contributes to the development of economic relations between Poland and Armenia, promotes the process of establishing companies in Armenia, and develops the international potential of Armenian enterprises[7]
