Insightful, formerly known as Workpuls, is an international IT company founded in 2016 by Ivan Petrović. The company develops employee workforce analytics software, which is its main product. [1] [12]
Products and Services Insightful's employee tracking software offers time tracking, active and idle time measurements, and web and app activity monitoring. The company provides both cloud-based and on-premise installation options. [2] [3]
Company Overview The company employs over a hundred people across Europe, the US, and Australia. It serves over 3000 businesses, and its work tracking software has more than 150,000 individual users. [4] [5]

History
Founding Ivan Petrović founded Insightful with a business partner. The initial software, Workpuls, focused on real-time monitoring, automatic timekeeping, productivity trends analysis, and project tracking. [7] [8]
In May 2020, The Business Journals listed Workpuls as one of the 47 Bay Area startups predicted to prosper during the pandemic. [9]
Rebranding In response to changing market demands due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the company rebranded as Insightful in 2022. Insightful was marketed as remote employee monitoring software and included features for operational efficiency, employee engagement, and enterprise-grade security. [10]
Further Development In April 2023, Sebastian Kipman, Insightful’s Head of Communications, discussed work location flexibility and innovation on the People Managing People platform. [11]
In late 2023, Yahoo Finance reported on new data security features, including insider threat detection and real-time alerts. [4]
