Birth[edit]

The late Japounj Eliud Nyonje Otieno was born in the year 1940 in Kawaswa Amuono village. He was the son of the late Joash Otieno Abala and the late Mama Isdora Odongo Otieno.The late Japounj Eliud was the 4th born among 6 siblings namely, the late Mama Rael Adero, Late Mama Elseba Omollo, Mama Teresia Olang'o, Late Mama Monica Dodo, & Mama Susan Adero. Other siblings of the late Japounj from the 2nd, 3rd and 4th houses were Samuel Langa, Late Mariam Mbaka, Mama Elizabeth Siguda, Mama Phoebe Odewa, Mama Peres Likundu, Late George Ondiek Otieno, Mama Grace Awino Otieno, Late Mary Achieng Ndonji and Benson Ochieng. His Extended Family include the Late Edward Ogogo Kichawa, William Abala, Dorcas Aoko, Late Margaret Okello, Rispa Nyonje,Tabitha Auma,Teresa Akinyi, Jared Odhiambo, Late Flida Mboya, Late Agneta Amwata Late Siprina Ouma. Late Joshua Odhiambo and Late Nashon Odero, Late James Osumo...[1]

Education[edit]

The late Japuonj took his basic education at Kandiege Interme-diate School and later proceeded to Karabok Intermediate and Ongalo School for higher education. He then proceeded to Siga-lagala Technical College for his Masonry Course.[1]

Work Life[edit]

After attaining his Diploma in Masonry, Japuonj was deployed to work at Kabarnet Village Polytechnic (Now Kabarnet Univer-sity). He was transferred to Ramogi Institute of Advance Technology (RIAT) where he headed the Building Department. In 1990 Japuonj was again transferred to Nyakongo Village Polytechnic as the head of the insti-tute (Manager) where he served for over 5 years [1]. He was then transferred to Migori Youth Polytechnic and thereafter Ngisiru Youth Polytechnic (Kuria District) where he also served as the manager for more than 3 years. He opted to retire from active employment when he was transferred to Homa Bay Youth Polytechnic choosing to venture into private practice. Jaduong worked with World Vision Kisumu from 2000-2005 as a Bursary Distributor to the needy Children in Kisumu East Constituency

The Late Japounj was married to 4 wives namely Mama Hellen Auma Nyonje, Mama Norah Otieno Nyonje, Mama Loice vt Qv/ Njoga Nyonje and Mama Anjelin k Atieno Nyonje. Japuonj was bless-ed with the following children:

1st Wife - Pamela Akinyi, Caleb ti Ochieng Nyonje, Japuonj Clement • . • - Odemba Nyonje, Joash Onyango Nyonje, Beldina Odera, Late Isca Atieno,Alice Aoko and Musa Aranda Nyonje.

2nd Wife —Joseph Adero Nyonje, Late Joice Adhiambo, Japuonj John Otieno Nyonje, Greshom Nyabwa Nyonje, Eng. Isaac Odhiambo Nyonje Mercy Atieno, and Dennis Omondi Nyonje.

3rd Wife — Jemima Achieng, Hon: Thomas Odhiambo Nyonje, Elizabeth Akinyi and Koath Odhiambo Nyonje.

4th Wife — Janet Atieno, Milka Awuor, Late Judith Akinyi, Erick Odhiambo Nyonje, Linet Achieng and Emma Anyango. Daughters in Law to Late Japuonj Eliud are Jane Adhiambo, Late Pamela Aluoch Odemba, Eunice Odemba, Lilian Adhiambo Onyango, Emaculate Achieng, Monica Adero, Agnes Awino, Emma Awuor, Nelly Awino, Elizabeth Wamboi, Josephine Opiyo, Linda Atieno, Prisca Achieng, Patricia Ochieng Arum, Judith Auma Odipo & Anne Achieng[2]

Japuonj Eliud was son- in laws to the late Mzee Moses Aranda (Karabok), the late Mzee Nathaniel Odep (Kauma Kanyongo), the late Mzee Seniour Chief Zephania Malit (Kita') and the late Mzee Wilson Owuor (Ugenya Sidindi)

Christian Life[edit]

Japounj was a staunch Christian in Amuono Seventh Day Adventist Church as a member in regular and good standing. In 2012 he participated in the creation of Ayiengo New Jerusalem SDA Church and through his children he ensured that the construction of the modest church was commissioned and is still under construction.

Work Life[edit]

Over a decade ago, the Late Japuonj Eliud was diagnosed with a heart problem and high blood pressure. He underwent treatment at various hospitals including Kenyatta National Hospital, Russia (Jaramogi Oginga Odinga Teaching and Referral Hospital), Janeiro and Kendu Adventist Hopsital (Gendia).

In 2019, the late Jaduong was taken to ICU at Avenue Hospital in Kisumu. Upon his discharge, he was rendered to a Wheelchair and eventually bedridden. (In 2019, the LateJapuonj Eliud was taken ill and admitted at the ICU of Avenue Hospital in Kisumu. Although Dad's health slightly improved, he lost his mobility significantly leading to his usage of a wheelchair and was eventually bedridden in his final years) On 28th February 2023, Late Japuonj Eluid was taken ill and admitted at Gendia (Kendu Adventist Hospital) where he was diagnosed with leg thrombosis, acute stomach ulcers and high blood pressure. He was treated and discharged on 23rd March. On 1 5th April 2023, he was again re-admitted at Gendia when he developed breathing problems. He was diagnosed and treated for Pneumonia and blood infections. His health improved and was discharged on Thursday the 20th, where he returned home, spent the night and had a good time with his family. He rested on peacefully at his home on Friday 21st April at I pm. Blessed are the dead who die in the LORD...
