Jeffrey P. Kahn is an American bioethicist, researcher, and author. He is serving as the Andreas C. Dracopoulos Director and the inaugural Ryda Hecht Levi Professor of Bioethics and Public Policy at the Johns Hopkins Berman Institute of Bioethics. He also holds a professorship in the Department of Health Policy Management at the Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health. Kahn is an elected member of the National Academy of Medicine.

Kahn has authored several books and over 125 research articles and commentaries, primarily exploring the intersection of ethics and health/science policy. His research encompasses human and animal research ethics, public health, and ethical considerations in emerging biomedical technologies.[1]

Career

From 1996 to 2011, Kahn was the director of the Center for Bioethics and a professor at the University of Minnesota.[2] He joined Johns Hopkins in 2011 as a professor in the School of Public Health and deputy director of the Berman Institute for Bioethics. In 2016, he was appointed as the Andreas C. Dracopoulos Director of the Berman Institute[3] and was re-appointed for a second term in 2023.[4]
