Kundan raj Kafle (Nepali: कुन्दन राज काफ्ले) is a Nepali politician serving as the Minister for Economic Affairs and Planning of Bagmati Province born in December 14, 1981 AD (Mangsir 29, 2038), is the central member of Nepali Congress and member of Bagmati Provincial Assembly elected from Dolakha 1 (constituency).
Political Career
[edit]Kafle started his political career as a dedicated member of the Nepal Student Union at Pashupati Campus in 2055 B.S. That same year, he was elected as a member of the Student Union at the campus. His leadership abilities were quickly recognized, and in 2056 B.S., he was appointed Secretary of the Student Union. By 2057 B.S., Kafle had risen to the position of President of the Student Union, a role in which he was re-elected in 2060 B.S., further solidifying his influence among the student body.
His commitment to student activism and leadership within the Nepal Student Union led to his election as a Central Member of the Union in 2061 B.S. Kafle continued to climb the ranks, becoming the Central Treasurer in 2064 B.S. and later serving as the General Secretary of the Nepal Student Union in 2073 B.S., where he played a pivotal role in shaping youth participation in national politics.
In 2079 B.S., Kafle's political journey reached a new milestone when he was elected as a Chief Whip of the Nepali Congress, marking his transition into mainstream national politics. His growing influence and dedication to public service culminated in his election as a Member of the Bagmati Provincial Assembly in the same year, where he continues to represent his constituents and advocate for democratic principles and social justice.
However, on Bhadra 2080 B.S., Kafle tendered his resignation as the Chief Whip of the Nepali Congress Bagmati Province Parliamentary Party, citing the challenge of balancing his party's organizational needs with the demands of his role as Chief Whip. [1] Kafle emphasized the importance of a dynamic and robust Congress for the future of the nation and democracy. He expressed his intention to focus on revitalizing the Nepali Congress with renewed vigor and to serve the people of Dolakha more effectively in his capacity as a central committee member.
