Marko Veljković

Marko Veljković (Serbian Cyrillic: Марко Вељковић; Bukovljane, near Kumanovo, North Macedonia, then Ottoman Empire, c. 1878 - Šuplji Kamen, Ottoman Empire, 27 May 1904) was a Serbian Chetnik freedom-fighter in the Macedonian Struggle from 1903.

Marko Veljković was born circa 1878 in the village of Bukovičani near Valjevo in what is now Serbia but at the time, it was still an unredeemed territory and part of the Ottoman Empire. Veljković joined the Serbian Chetnik Organization when it was founded in 1903. In his first major deployment, he was killed in the "Battle of Četirci", better known as Battle of Šuplji Kamen. All 24 Chetniks perished at the hands of the Turkish Army. They are:

Chetnik Marko Veljković is considered a national hero in North Macedonia.
