History
[edit]Matha Senior Secondary School was founded in 1979 by His Excellency Rev. Dr. Abraham Mar Julios, then Bishop of the Syro-Malankara Catholic Eparchy of Muvattupuzha. The school initially began as a Kindergarten under the initiative of Late Rev. Fr. Stanislaus Kakkanat (1937–2014)[1], with approval from the Late Bishop Isaac Mar Youhanon. Over time, the school expanded to include higher classes and became a Senior Secondary School under the CBSE board.[2]
Academics
[edit]The school offers a range of academic programs, with a focus on preparing students for higher education and professional careers. In addition to traditional subjects, the school provides instruction in Computer Science, supported by appropriate laboratory facilities. The senior secondary curriculum is designed to equip students with the necessary skills and knowledge to pursue further studies in fields such as engineering, medicine, dentistry, and agriculture.
Management
[edit]The school is operated by the Syro-Malankara Catholic Archeparchy of Tiruvalla. The school’s governance includes His Grace Most Rev. Dr. Thomas Mar Koorilos as the Patron, with Rt. Rev. Dr. Philippose Mar Stephanos serving as the Co-Patron. The current Principal is Titto M Joseph, and the school’s day-to-day operations are overseen by Rev. Fr. Renjith Madathirampil, the Manager.

Achievements
[edit]- In the 2023 District Sahodaya Athletic Meet held at the Carmel Engineering College grounds in Punnapra, Matha Senior Secondary School, Alappuzha, emerged as the overall champions with 138 points.[3]
