CHUANG 2021
[edit]Episode 1[12]: Trainees had to perform and were ranked by attaining votes from both the show's mentors and their fellow trainees using a voting device. Trainees were ranked by A, B, C and F, with A being the highest rank. Santa performed alongside his labelmate and group member, Rikimaru, to the song A CAMINHADA by Gloria Groove.[13] The two sang and performed a dance routine they self-choreographed. Santa was asked to perform an extra solo, he performed a freestyle dance primarily in the house dance style. He was then asked for an encore, and did another freestyle routine with more of a focus on krumping. [14]After performing three physically intensive dances without properly warming up, Santa laid down due to fatigue and was attended by medical professionals. Thus, filming that day was halted and Santa didn't receive his evaluation. Filming resumed the next day. Everyone watched the tape of Santa's performances in order to provide a fair evaluation. Santa received a perfect score (a vote from all the mentors and trainees), and was subsequently classed as A. The episode ended with Santa performing in a dance battle with Liu Yu and Xue Bayi.
Episode 2[15] and 3[16]: After the first public evaluation, Santa placed rank 4 and was in Class A. Trainees chose from 14 songs according to their ranks, which they would perform for their first public performance. Santa joined the group performing Yummy (Justin Bieber Song as the center of the performance. Santa's group went against the group performing, 女孩 / Girl. [17] Santa's team lost this round. After the second public evaluation, Santa placed rank 2 however, due to his public perfomrance he was demoted to Class C.
Episode 4[18]: Trainees were asked to rearrange the show's theme song in groups of 5 to 11 trainees. Santa joined a group with Oscar Wang, Kazuma, Hu Yetao, Rikimaru, Caelan, Patrick Nattawat Finkler, Yu Yang, and Zhou Keyu. The team called themselves, Friends, with their themed performance being centered around friendship.[19] They rearranged the theme song to be a band (musical instruments) and dance performance. After the third public evaluation Santa remained at rank 2 and was promoted to Class A.
Episode 5[20]: Santa survived the first round of eliminations and kept both his rank 2 and Class A status.
Episode 6[21]: Trainees chose which professional space (Dance, Vocal or Composition) they wanted to divert to for the second public evaluation/ performance stage. Santa chose the professional space for Dance and alongside Rikimaru, Ren Yinpeng, Wu Hai and Xu Shaolan created an original choreography to the song Joker by singer Lay Zhang [22]. At the end of this episode's public evaluation Santa's rank dropped down to rank 4.
Episode 7[23]: Santa survived the second round of eliminations placing rank 2 and staying in Class A.
Episode 8[24]: Viewers chose which trainees they wanted to be the center of one of six original songs. Santa was voted the center for the song Nana Party and was joined by Jing Long, Chang Teng, Wei Ziyue, Fu Sichao and Xie Xingyang as his team mates. A guest idol joined each team[25]. Mao Xiaotong joined the Nana Party team. At the end of this episode Santa maintained rank 2.
Episode 9[26]: Santa survived the third round of eliminations maintaining has rank 2 and staying in Class A.
Episode 10[27]: Santa finished rank 2 in the finale after performing a solo original choreography to Yu Yang's song Farewell. [28]. Being in the top 11 rankings, Santa debuted in the boy group INTO1.
