Sue McFadden is a Canadian politician who is serving as a Mississauga City Councillor (MP) for Ward 10 since 2006.

Before winning her seat in 2006, McFadden served as Trustee for the Peel District School Board for six years.[1]

In February 2024, she announced that she would be running as the Conservative candidate for Mississauga—Streetsville in the 45th Canadian federal election.[2]

Background

McFadden originally graduated from Sheridan College with a degree in Marketing. She later attended Ryerson University for a degree in Training and Development. She has since earned her diploma in the Municipal Administration Program and achieved the Certified Municipal Officer designation. [1]

Prior to her career as an elected official, McFadden worked for Bell Canada for 17 years at the senior management level.[1]

Political Career

In 2006, Sue McFadden was elected as the City and Regional Councillor for Mississauga’s Ward 10. Ward 10 was first created in 2006 due to the rising population of Mississauga, making McFadden the first councillor to represent the constituency. [3] She has served five terms within this position.

As of 2024, she serves on the Emergency Management Program Committee and Conservation Halton Committee for the Region of Peel. [1]

Throughout her time as an elected official, McFadden has held various leadership positions on committees such as the Peel Police Services Board, Safe City Mississauga, Traffic Safety Council, Emergency Services, etc. [1]

Due to her commitment to her constituents, McFadden is a recipient of both the Queen Elizabeth II Diamond Jubilee Medal and Platinum Jubilee Medal. [1]

Personal Life

Sue McFadden has lived in Mississauga for more than 45 years alongside her husband, Dave.

McFadden is the former president of the Mississauga-Meadowvale Rotary Club where she is also a Paul Harris Award winner.
