Is a 1967 story telling drama (play), by Ghanaian writer, Efua T. Sutherland. founded the Drama Studio in Accra (now the Writers' Workshop in the Institute of African Studies, University of Ghana, Legon)

The new edition of marriage of anansewa was dedicated to the 25th anniversary of the Ghana drama studio, on 13th December 1986 [1][2]
[3][4]A story telling drama that consists of the cunningness that Ananse displays to secure the most suitable husband for his daughter--who has reached the age of marriage--from a list of four ethnic chiefs invited to formally ask for her hand.
Anansewa, who is Ananse's daughter is his asset, he's trying by all means to persuade any of the country's chief who is financially stable ,[5] for her to marry, the question here is, what if Anansewa doesn't have interest in the chiefs? A little mystery compared to what will happen if all the chiefs agreed to marry Anansewa![6]
Part comedy, part serious social remark The Marriage of Anansewa is a speedy moving story (play) of greed and cunning-with just a hint of tender romance.[7][8]
