The Nacelle Company
[edit]The Nacelle Company is an American diversified media company founded by Brian Volk-Weiss in 2017. Nacelle is a leader in the pop-culture space through scripted and unscripted production, distribution, development, marketing, management, and consumer product divisions. It is the parent of the subsidiary company, Comedy Dynamics, and is home to the Nacelleverse[1], a shared universe reviving beloved brands into new toys, comic books, consumer products, and animated series.
Before founding Nacelle, Volk-Weiss was the senior vice president at the Barry Katz Entertainment Group (BKEG), where he led the talent and production division. The company merged with New Wave Entertainment in 2003. In 2008, he founded New Wave Dynamics (now Comedy Dynamics[2]) In 2017, the Nacelle Company was created as its own stand-alone company.
Nacelle has since produced and distributed many notable shows to various major networks such as Netflix, Disney+, HBO, Amazon, Hulu, Peacock, and The CW. Some of the company's productions include Down to Earth with Zac Efron, The Toys That Made Us, The Movies That Made Us, Behind the Attraction, Kevin Hart’s Guide to Black History, Icons Unearthed, and Billy Corgan’s Adventures In Carneyland.
In 2022, the Nacelle Company expanded with a consumer products division reviving beloved toy properties, including Biker Mice From Mars, RoboForce, Sectaurs, Wild West C.O.W.-Boys of Moo Mesa, Power Lords, The Great Garloo, and Big Loo. The aforementioned brands are being revived into new toys, comic books, and animated shows[3] that exist within a shared NacelleVerse. RoboForce: The Animated Series[4] is currently in production and co-produced by Dwayne Johnson, Dany Garcia, and Seven Bucks Productions. Biker Mice From Mars[5] is in pre-production for an animated series and is co-produced by Ryan Reynolds and Maximum Effort. Outside of the Nacelleverse, the company has also created action figures from the Amazon TV series, The Expanse.[6]
In 2024, Nacelle announced its partnership with Walmart[7] to bring the NacelleVerse products to stores nationwide. A dedicated end cap in Walmart stores will feature exclusive brands, including Nacelle action figures such as Maxx 89 and Wrecker (RoboForce), Throttle, Vinnie, and Modo (Biker Mice From Mars), as well as Dargon and Stellara (Sectaurs), and limited edition Walmart exclusive action figure variants for RoboForce, Sectaurs, and The Great Garloo.
