The Nautilus Mutiny is a 2022 crime drama film written and directed by Daniel Shehata. The film was produced during the COVID-19 pandemic.
Produced by Bobby D'Buze, the film brought Shehata international acclaim and introduced Pople and Kenny to worldwide audiences in their featurette film debuts. It was also a festival success, scoring over 25 awards and four nominations at international festivals.[1] Since April 2024, the film is available on Amazon's Prime Video in the UK and the US.[2]

Locations include Mayfair and Chats Palace which were used to stage luxury watch dealerships. Edgware Road and the Victoria Memorial were used for exterior shots featuring the convertible Rolls Royce Corniche. Millennium Bridge was used as the backdrop for one of the climactic action scenes. The film was exclusively shot on a compact Blackmagic Design setup with a Rokinon cine lens set.[1]
Critical reception
[edit]The Swiss newspaper St. Galler Tagblatt called the film "fast, glamorous, excellent!"[3]
The Austrian newspaper Tiroler Tageszeitung called The Nautilus Mutiny a "smash hit" and "visually stunning". [4] The Kronen Zeitung stated that the film is "packed with action and suspense."[5]
The highly critical UK film review said "...The Nautilus Mutiny is a really well made film" and compared it to Guy Ritchie's and Matthew Vaughn's films from the early 2000s. [6]
Elliot Grove, the founder of the [[Raindance Film Festival] and the British Independent Film Awards said "The Nautilus Mutiny! In 30 years of running these festivals and the film school, I've never seen anybody create such a high quality film as their first one! It's sparkling!" [7]
