The criteria for academics are spelt out in WP:NPROF. In general junior professors do not meet these, he certainly does not yet with decent but not high publications and no major awards. In addition the article is full of irrelevant material and a fair bit of WP:Peacock. You were not guided well on what to include, not everyone merits a WP page, the bar is high. Hello @Ldm1954, Gutierrez was profiled by C&EN of the American Chemical Society, National Institute of General Medical Sciences, and KCRA news. I think with these sources the article passes WP:BASIC. Brianda (Wiki Ed) (talk) 19:50, 4 December 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Sorry, no I do not agree with that. Everything speaks to him as a rising young star, but we look for much, much more than this in WP:NPROF. One local news station and a couple of interviews in science journals does not to me rise to WP:BASIC, particularly as the two journal articles are about him as a young scientist. Of course you can put it back and we can go to AfD, or post to WP:N to get additional opinions about whether this meets WP:BASIC. I think the case is far, far weaker than for Ryan Emanuel.
