Started in 2003, the El Dorado High School band has seen success in its first few years of existence. In 2004 the band fielded their first marching band and received first division ratings and the attention of their school and community.{{cn}} In 2005 the band was moved up to 4A varsity and made their first trip to area marching contest with its 'Phantom of the Opera' field show. In 2006 the band moved up to 5A varsity level and again made it to area marching contest with its 'Alice's Adventures' field show. In 2007 the band performed Pandora's Box and received a division one rating at SISD Marchfest and at UIL.{{cn}} In 2008, the EDHS band performed "The Lord of the Rings". El Dorado High School is a public high school located in El Paso, Texas.


History

El Dorado High School opened in July 2003, and El Dorado's first senior class graduated in May 2007.[3]

Academics

El Dorado High School will promote for all of its students the development of academic, career, and personal / social growth through a partnership with teachers, parents, and the community.

The school offers the International Baccalaurate Program. Lizett Shaw is the current IB coordinator. El Dorado also offers the AVID program, along with AP Courses, and other challenging programs, hoping to promote the student as a whole individual capable of achievement across the different academic courses.
