Felipe Alejandro Gutiérrez Leiva (Spanish pronunciation: [feˈlipe ɣuˈtjeres]; born 8 October 1990) is a Chilean footballer who plays for Dutch club FC Twente as a midfielder.
Club career
Universidad Catolica
Gutiérrez began his youth career at Everton de Viña del Mar in 2004. Four years later, after being scouted, he moved to Universidad Catolica. Gutiérrez made his professional debut in 2009 with only 18 years of age. Then in the Copa Chile mark his first goal for the club, against San Pedro de Atacama, opening the mind, as the game would end 4-0 in favor for the "UC". Later in the second phase of the 2010 tournament, Felipe Gutierrez was crowned of the Campeonato Nacional de Chile with Universidad Catolica, scoring two goals, the first scored it O'Higgins the July 31, 2010, and the second was scored in the last Everton to date. It was the goal that sealed the win 5-0, which gave the title to the UC, turning in San Carlos de Apoquindo.
On 2011, in the Apertura 2011, showed his great ability, doing a very good campaign, scoring in big games against Colo-Colo and Universidad de Chile. At the Championship, the Universidad Catolica was second after playing the final with the Universidad de Chile, losing the final 4-1. FC Twente
On June 12, 2012 it was confirmed his signing for FC Twente in the Eredivisie. The Dutch club paid U.S. $3.7 million to Universidad Catolica for 70% of the player's pass. He made his official debut for the club on August 2, 2012 for the third qualifying round of the UEFA Europa League against FK Mlada Boleslav, joining at 73' minute. He scored his first official goal for Twente on 30 August 2012 in a UEFA Europa League play-off match against Bursaspor, scoring the 3-1 Twente's 4-1 win, allowing the Dutch team qualify for the group stage.
