The Fifth Avenue Bus Company was one of a few double-decker bus manufacturers outside of Europe. Based in New York City, it provided double-decker buses to New York and Toronto. Most North American transit agencies ended use of double-decker buses in favor of single deck buses. The company was actually called the New York City Transportation Company and was the manufacturing arm and parent company of the Fifth Avenue Coach Company. Its products were the A, L and 2L type double deckers and J type single decker.
