The Fort Lauderdale Police Department or FLPD is the police department of Fort Lauderdale, Florida, a city of about 175,000 inhabitants.[1] The department has 515 sworn police officers and 195 non-sworn employees. Since June 2008 the Chief of Police has been Franklin C. Adderley, who joined the department in 1980.[2] The department has come under public scrutiny after arresting at least one man for feeding the homeless.[3]
