Garrity Creek
Appearance
Garrity Creek is a 3.0-mile-long (4.8 km)[1] creek in Richmond, California's Hilltop neighborhood. It runs into San Pablo Bay.[2] It is sometimes called Hilltop Creek.
The creek is supported by two natural springs from two short sources which join into Garrity Creek. These sources may be threatened by potential development which is opposed by residents, neighborhood associations, the organization Friends of Garrity Creek and environmentalists which want the land to become a park. They claim the proposed 10-acre (40,000 m2) development is illegal since it violates county rules prohibiting construction on slopes steeper than 26 feet (8 m).[3]
