Good News from the Next World is Simple Minds' tenth studio album, released in 1995. The album garnered moderate commercial success. However, in the UK, it reached No. 2 and produced the two Top 20 hit singles "She's a River" (No. 9) and "Hypnotised" (No. 18).[1]

It was not badly received among critics in the United States. However, it was critically panned in the UK. John Harris wrote in Melody Maker that the album "approximates the noise that would be made if the entire contents of a music shop were strapped to an Empire transport ship from Star Wars", adding "for all its cod-Wagnerian vastness, there are no tunes."[5]
