Heng[1] is the pinyin romanization of the Chinese surname written in traditional characters or in simplified ones.

It does not appear among the Song-era Hundred Family Surnames.

Romanizations

橫 and 横 are also romanized as Wong in Cantonese.

Distribution

Heng is not one of the 100 most common names in mainland China or on Taiwan. It is an uncommon name in the United States, ranked 13,044th during the 1990 census and 10,281st during the year 2000 census.[2]
