Hi Fly Malta is a Maltese charter airline based at Malta International Airport and a subsidiary of the Portuguese Hi Fly.

History

Hi Fly Malta Airbus A340-600

Hi Fly Malta started operations in early 2013 with one Airbus A340-600 formerly operated by Virgin Atlantic with one more pre-owned on order.[1] The airline had also applied for an Air Operators Certificate[2] and planned to start scheduled operations to destinations in North America.[3] However, as of spring 2015, all of the airlines' aircraft had been stored[4] and in May 2015 several A340-600s previously operated by Hi Fly Malta were sold to Mahan Air.[5]

Destinations

Like its parent, Hi Fly Malta offers charter and ACMI operations, mostly on behalf of tour operators or other airlines. The airline thereby focusses on long-haul and high-density passenger operations and only operates large long-haul aircraft accordingly.

Fleet

As of June 2015, Hifly Malta no longer has any aircraft in operation.[4] The formerly four operated Airbus A340-600s were previously sold to Al-Naser Airlines and Mahan Air.[4]
