Ismat Taha Kittani (Template:Lang-ar; 5 April 1929 – 23 October 2001) was an Iraqi politician, most notable for being President of the United Nations General Assembly in 1981 and 1982.
Early life
Kittani graduated from Knox College, Illinois in 1951 with a degree in political science and English. At Knox, Kittani was a brother of the Delta Theta chapter of Sigma Nu fraternity. He returned home to join the Iraqi foreign ministry in 1952.[1]
