J-segment is a car classification defined by European Commission as the segment of the sport utility cars (including off-road vehicles).[1] It is increasing in volume year by year in Europe; in early 2015, it became the second most popular segment (behind the C-segment and overtaking the B-segment) with 21.6% market share.[2]

Typical J-segment vehicles include the BMW X5, Land Rover Discovery, Volvo XC90.
