Jacob Hurley Bongiovi (born May 7, 2002)[2] is an American model and actor. He is the son of musician Jon Bon Jovi.

Early life

[edit]

Born in New Jersey, and raised in Middletown Township, New Jersey,[3] he is the son of musician Jon Bon Jovi and Dorothea Hurley. He has three siblings, Romeo, Stephanie, and Jesse.[4] He attended Poly Prep Country Day School in Brooklyn.[5] Bongiovi attended The Pennington School, where he played on the football team.[6] He attended Syracuse University in 2020, but dropped out after his first year to pursue acting.[7]

Career

[edit]

Bongiovi is expected to make his acting debut as part of the cast in the upcoming romantic comedy Sweethearts, from Jordan Weiss and New Line Cinema. He is cast alongside Charlie Hall, Kiernan Shipka, and Nico Hiraga, playing the role of Kellan.[8] Filming wrapped on the project in August 2022.[9] Filming locations reportedly included Jersey City, Cranford, and Ramapo College in Mahwah.[10] In February 2023, he was cast in the Todd Tucker musical film Rockbottom alongside McKaley Miller and Teala Dunn, which follows a fictitious 1980s hair metal band CougarSnake, centred around lead actor Tom Everett Scott. Bongiovi’s character Justin is a potential lead singer who must first overcome stage fright.[11]

As a model, Bongiovi is signed with William Morris Endeavor and IMG Models.[10]

Personal life

[edit]

Since 2021, Bongiovi has been in a relationship with British actress Millie Bobby Brown. They made their red carpet debut together in March 2022 at the BAFTA Awards.[12] The couple announced their engagement in April 2023, with both making respective posts to their Instagram accounts.[13][14][15] News of the engagement was reported as going quickly viral by Newsweek in April 2023,[16] with broadsheet discussion of the relative young ages of Bongiovi (20) and Brown (19) at the time of the engagement.[17][18] In May 2024, the couple married in a private ceremony.[19]
