Joe Rajan (born October 27, 1973) is an Indian film director and producer.[1] He is also CEO and founder of one of India's leading travel companies, Harvey World Destinations.

Early life and background

Joe Rajan started his career as an employee in a travel company in Mahim, Mumbai. In a few short years, he had risen through the ranks, becoming the vice-president (sales and marketing). In 2005, he quit and started his own travel company, Harvey India. As founder and CEO of Harvey India,[2] Joe Rajan has guided the company's growth from its modest beginnings, with just a handful of employees, to a flourishing and reputed enterprise with over a hundred employees in offices in India and abroad.

Films career

After proving his talent in the business world, he stepped into the glamorous world of films. In 2013, Joe ventured into the Indian Film Industry – producing and directing His first debut film, Luv U Soniyo,[3] which released on 26 July 2013. The film, a romantic-comedy, was bought by media giant Network 18 and had a fair run in the box office and was the launch of Rati Agnihotri's son Tanuj Virwani and Miss India 2010 Neha Hinge.[4][5][6] Recently, he co-produced the critically acclaimed Marathi Movie Kanha along with Zee studios. He is currently producing the Marathi Movie Ranangan along with Viacom 18 motion pictures and Karishma Jain. Joe Rajan is currently working on his next film (untitled). the film is written by Vipul K. Rawal, who earlier wrote the hit movie Iqbal. Shooting starts December 2016.

Personal life

He is a director, producer, businessman, philanthropist - the words his friends use to best describe him. His own philosophy of life is the good old "Live Life King size" and "Follow your heart". He was born in Thrissur, Kerala to Mr. V. K. Rajan and Annie Rajan. He is very passionate about Bollywood and music.

Relationship

He married Rochelle D'souza and has two daughters, Sarah Joe and Natasha Joe.

Philanthropist

Joe has been actively involved in several charities and he regularly sponsors various church events in Mumbai. His passion for travelling and exploring takes him to exotic destinations and meet interesting people. He and his wife Rochelle keep hosting the annual Christmas brunch where prominent names of the hospitality industry, politics and fashion rubbed shoulders with people in the entertainment field.[7][8][9]

Achievements

Joe is the Founder and CEO of Harvey India Pvt Ltd.,[2] a leading travel and tour organization that was established in 2005. It has its branch and associate Offices all over India and an International office in Chicago. He incorporated Harvey India Holidays Pvt. Ltd. in the year 2012, that has flexible packages to popular destinations like Kerala, Goa, Himachal, Rajasthan, the Southern Hill stations and more… In addition, niche options include wildlife, Ayurveda and spas, soft adventure, Honeymoons, Pilgrimages and educational tours for students. He also incorporated Harvey India Productions in 2011, with his first directorial Debut - Luv U Soniyo.[10][11][12][13] He was also a guest Columnist for Absolut India (travel specialist). Harvey India gets the award for one of the top five performers' 2013-2014 travel company from Oberoi hotels. Indias Top producers award from OTM, highest Average rate global Market India From Marriott hotels worldwide.
