History

KRDO 1240 has been on the air since 1947. The call letters have always been KRDO.

The call sign stood for "Kolorado's (sic) Radio Dynamic Outlet."

The station was originally owned by Harry Hoth's Pikes Peak Broadcasting Company, which owned the station until June 2006 when News-Press & Gazette took over operations.

The station has been through many format changes over the years, ranging from adult contemporary, oldies, country, and sports talk prior to its current news/talk simulcast format.
