Kelvin Beachum, Jr. (born June 8, 1989) is an American football offensive tackle for the Jacksonville Jaguars of the National Football League (NFL). He played college football at SMU, and was drafted by the Pittsburgh Steelers in the seventh round (248th overall) of the 2012 NFL draft.

College career

Beachum played offensive left tackle at Southern Methodist University (SMU). There, he was a four-year starter for the Mustangs. He played alongside Josh LeRibeus later picked in the thirrd round of the NFL Draft by the Redskins.[1]

Professional career

Pittsburgh Steelers

Beachum was selected seventh round (248th overall) by the Pittsburgh Steelers in the 2012 NFL Draft.[2] He started his first NFL game against division rivals Baltimore Ravens.[3][4] While with the Steelers, he appeared in 44 games with 39 starts.

Jacksonville Jaguars

On March 15, 2016, Beachum signed a contract with the Jacksonville Jaguars.[5] He was expected to compete with Luke Joeckel for the starting left tackle position.[6] On August 30, 2016, head coach Gus Bradley named Beachum the teams starting left tackle.[7]
