Kingdom (Japanese: キングダム, Hepburn: Kingudamu) is an upcoming 2019 Japanese-Chinese Adventure fantasy historical film adaptation of a manga series of the same name. Written and illustrated by Yasuhisa Hara, the story provides a fictionalized account of the Warring States period primarily through the experiences of the war orphan Xin and his comrades as he fights to become the greatest general under the heavens, and in doing so unifying China for the first time in history. It is Directed by Shinsuke Sato, distributed by Toho in Japan and Columbia Pictures worldwide.[1] The film stars Kento Yamazaki as main lead Shin, Ryo Yoshizawa, and Kanna Hashimoto. It will release in Japanese theater on April 19, 2019.[2][3]

Production
In April 17, 2016 special short movie was release by the manga's publishing magazine, Young jump.[4] It was made for celebrate the 10th Anniversary of the manga. The short movie is filmed by Hengdian World Studios in china. Kento Yamazaki was choosen by Hara it self to played main lead, Shin.
On April 8 2018, Kingdom's creator Yasuhira Hara made handwritten statement which revealed that a live-action film of his series had been green-lit. The author stated he took part in script meetings, praising the 'satisfying' screenplay, the 'unprecedented' budget, and everyone in the casts.[5] April 19, 2018 Hara tweeted again an illustration to the live action movie. This was also release at the day of 50th volume of the kingdom manga.[6]
On October 9, 2018 the movie was officially announced along with a visual poster, trailer and a making interview. Kento Yamazaki reprised the role of Shin in this Live action movie. Press conference was also held in the same day which attended by the casts. The film is scheduled to be released on April 19, 2019.[7][8][9][10]
Filming took place in China from April 2018 and continue in Japan.
