Laura Wisam Haddad (born September 4, 1985), who goes by the stage name Lara Landon, is an American Christian pop musician and worship recording artist, who plays a soulful folkish sound of music. Her music career started in 2008, after graduating from college. She has released three studio albums, Beloved, Overcome, and There Is Grace. The song "Overcome", charted on the Billboard magazine Christian Songs chart.

Early life and background

Landon was born Laura Wisam Haddad,[1] on September 4,[2] 1985,[3] in San Bernardino County, California,[4] the youngest of three daughters by a Jordanian-born American father, Dr. Wisam Boulos Haddad (1954–2014), and an American-born Sicilian mother, Rozanne Haddad (née, Carrubba),[4][5] where she was raised with two sisters, Angie and Laila.[6] She departed for Nashville, Tennessee, after she graduated from high school in Riverside, California, where she attended and graduated from Belmont University, in 2008.[5][7]

Music career

Albums

Her music recording career commenced in 2008, with the studio album, Beloved, that was released on September 22, 2009, with Bemamedia and Whiplash Records.[8][9][10] The subsequent studio album, Overcome, was released on May 1, 2012, by Wise Sam Records.[11][12][13] She released, There Is Grace, on September 9, 2014, from The Fuel Music.[14][15][16] Landon released a compilation album of greatest hits, The Best of Me, on February 19, 2016.[17]

EPs

She has released two extended plays, the first, Love/Majestic, was released in 2011.[18] Her subsequent EP, Christmas, was released on December 4, 2012.[19]

Songs

The song, "Closer", on her first album, charted on the Billboard magazine charts, where it peaked at No. 36 on the Christian Songs chart.[20] Her song, "I See God In You", was covered by New Release Today in a Behind the Song feature.[21] Another song, "Defenseless", was written about in a Behind the Song feature from New Release Today.[22]
